Rydym yn ysgol sydd yn cefnogi’n llwyr tuag at anghenion addysgol ychwanegol.
Mae Llywodraeth Cymru wedi cyflwyno deddfwriaeth a chanllawiau newydd o’r enw Deddf Anghenion Dysgu Ychwanegol a Thribiwnlys Addysg (Cymru) 2018 a Chôd Anghenion Dysgu Ychwanegol (ADY) Cymru 2021, a fydd yn disodli’r ddeddfwriaeth a’r canllaw presennol sy’n ynmwneud ag ADY.
Mae’r Ddeddf wedi newid am sawl rheswm; y prif reswm yw er mwyn gwneud y broses yn symlach ac yn fwy cyfartal i bawb sy‘n ymwneud â hi. Mae’r ddeddfwriaeth newydd ar gyfer ADY yn arwain at sawl newid gan gynnwys:
· Dod â’r holl systemau presennol at ei gilydd mewn un system newydd ar gyfer ADY.
· Rhoi mwy o bwyslais ar y dysgwr.
· Rhoi’r un hawliau i bob dysgwr beth bynnag eu hoedran neu eu lleoliad addysgol.
· Gwella’r pontio rhwng lleoliadau.
· Cynnig darpariaeth yn y Gymraeg lle bydd angen.
· Bod yn system teg a thryloyw i bawb.
Adnabyddir plant ag Anghenion Dysgu Ychwanegol trwy:
· Gymharu datblygiad y plentyn a’i cyfoedion wrth arsylwi.
· Defnyddio profion darllen/mathemateg statudol neu brofion eraill.
· Canlyniadau asesu athrawon.
· Pan fydd pryder am unrhyw blentyn yn codi, cynhelir trafodaethau anffurfiol a ffurfiol gyda rhieni/gofalwyr. Os bydd angen, bydd yr ysgol yn cyfeirio’r plentyn at arbenigwyr penodol, â chaniatad y rhieni/gofalwyr. Gosodir y plentyn ar gofrestr Anghenion Dysgu Ychwanegol am gyfnod o amser tra bod angen cymorth ychwanegol.
· Defnyddir gwasanaethau cymorth yr Awdurdod Addysg i gynghori athrawon ar strategaethau dysgu ac i ddatblygu Cynllun Datblygiad Unigol. Rhoddir y Wasanaeth Seicolegol Addysg gyngor anffurfiol neu asesiad ffrufiol yn ôl yr angen.
· Os oes pryder gennych chi ynglyn â’ch plentyn, mae’n bwysig eich bod chi’n trafod hyn gyda’r athro dosbarth a’r cydlynydd Anghenion Dysgu Ychwanegol, Mrs Eleri Bevan. Bydd yr ysgol yn rhoi cefnogaeth i chi i wneud penderfyniad ar y ffordd orau ymlaen.
The school is fully supportive and committed to pupils with additional learning needs.
The Welsh Government has introduced new legislation and guidance called the Additional Learning Needs and Educational Tribunal (Wales) Act 2018 and the Additional Learning Needs (ALN) Code for Wales 2021, which will replace existing legislation and guidance related to ALN.
The Act has changed for several reasons; the main reason is to make the process simpler and more equal for everyone involved. The new legislation for ALN has brought about a number of changes including:
· Bringing all existing systems together in one new ALN system.
· Placing more emphasis on the learner.
· Give all learners the same rights regardless of age or educational settings.
· Offering provision in Welsh where necessary.
· A fair and transparent system for everyone.
Children with Additional Learning Needs are identified by means of:
· Comparing children’s achievements and progress with their peers.
· Using suitable reading/mathematics test.
· Statutory assessment results.
· When a concern about a child arises, formal and informal discussions are held with parents/carers regarding their children’s needs. If necessary the child will be referred to a specific specialist with the permission of parents/carers. If necessary, the child will be placed on the Additional Learning Needs register for a while and extra support will be put in place.
· The school uses the support services provided by the Education Authority for advice on teaching strategies and to develop the Individual Development Plan. Informal and formal assessments are also provided by the Education Psychology Service.
· If you have any concerns about your child, you are advised to speak to the class teacher and the Additional Learning Needs co-ordinator, Mrs Eleri Bevan.
· The school will be able to support and assist you to decide upon the best way forward.
